OUTA Circle INNER Harvest
Hand-Bound Wreath Making

Date: Saturday 4th May

Learn the simple method of continuous-bound wreath making with natural fibre artist and local florist Naomi Drage. Participants will complete a grass and plant material 'autumnal themed' harvest wreath that they can enjoy for home, gift or a wearable crown. 
All materials provided, no previous weaving skills required, beginners welcomed.

Printmaking Workshop

Date: Saturday 4th May
Time: 11 - 1pm

Artist: Marc Renshaw

A beginners guide to Lino printing and monotype printing. Explore and experiment through this guided workshop, learning techniques to  create your own unique prints. Learn how to use our etching press and other ways to print in this easy and fun workshop.

Your prints can be included to form part of a live exhibition on our gallery wall for the festival duration.

'WALKSHOP' PHOTOGRAPHY

Date: Saturday 4th May
Time: 4pm
Venue: Meet at Bellingen Brewery

An informal walking workshop on environmental portraiture using 35mm film.
After a brief info session and camera familiarisation we will take a guided walk around Bellingen capturing portraits of others in the group along the way. 
Focussing on composition, context, perspective, utilising light and shadow as well as creating narrative within your images. Cameras available to use on the day or byo if you prefer. 
Facilitated by local photographer and festival curator, Liam Bede. 

$55 One roll of film as well as processing and printing are included.

ART JEWELLERY WORKSHOP

Artist: Grace Menzies and Wilany

Come and join us in this unique jewellery workshop where we honour the history and beauty of salvaged pieces through the ancient art of body adornment.

Create earrings, a necklace or another form of wearable art by combining industrial hardware such as electrical wire, old box staples and builders nails with the delicate charm of found broken ceramics, shells and stones and other materials reclaimed from old jewellery.

GUMBAYNGGIRR LANGUAGE and MUSIC WORKSHOP

Language teacher and Gumbaynggirr man Michael Jarrett (Micklo) and musician Luke Rhodes (Luka) team up to present this highly engaging workshop where you can get a taste of the beauty of the Gumbaynggirr language, while experiencing the fun and joy of bringing the learning to life with singing and music.

INDIGO FOR BEGINNERS Fabric Dying Workshop

Time: 2.15 - 4.15pm

An introduction to Indigo for beginners. Learn basic shibori techniques such as folding, tyeing or binding. Get a chance to dye your piece in a pre prepared Indigo vat. Everyone will walk away with their own hand dyed scarf and some new skills!
